10 tools to ignite your Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm is absolutely necessary if you ever want to accomplish anything of value. You need a larger-than-life excitement in whatever it is that you are doing for it to be successful. You can amass incredible enthusiasm within your life, you simply have to follow through with the 10 methods I am about to discuss just below:

Be passionate
You have to have a passion for what you are doing if you want to build enthusiasm for it. You need to be excited about it as you wake up in the morning and as you go to bed at night. This passion is what will keep your enthusiasm high, even during rough patches, which we all go through. Simply put, love what you do and enthusiasm will follow. You might want to read this great article I wrote 7 Questions To Finding Your True Passion, as it can help you get the ball rolling as to figuring out what your ultimate passion really is!

Be grateful
One of the ways that I build my enthusiasm with my work and my business is that I always remind myself everything that it has given me. I express gratitude for all that I have and this helps me become even more excited about what I’m doing. As we go through the daily grind, it is very easy to forget about all the little things that make our life easier and comfortable. Remember all the good things that you have going on in your life and be grateful for being who you are today. This is a wonderful method to create powerful enthusiasm in your life.

Be positive
Enthusiasm cannot survive in a negative environment. If you always have negative thoughts and are always looking at the glass as half empty, you will find your enthusiasm dissipate very quickly. You need to be positive for your enthusiasm to thrive. Look at the silver lining. Look on the bright side of things. Take away positive lessons out of seemingly bad situations, and you will find yourself submerged by a wave of amazing enthusiasm that will help carry you along the way towards your goals.

Be proud
Whatever it is that you want to build enthusiasm for, make sure that you are proud of it. Talk about it with your peers, discuss it with your friends, and mention it to your family. Pride is very important to create lasting enthusiasm, as anything that is worth being proud of, is worth having enthusiasm for. Talking about anything that you are proud of builds a terrific excitement that only helps in the continuation of it in a positive direction.

Be creative
You can never have enough creativity. Enthusiasm generates creativity and creativity triggers enthusiasm. Be innovative and creative in whatever you are doing and watch your enthusiasm skyrocket. Always look for better and newer ways to go about it, always look for an easier path, and always think outside the box. Being creative is one of the fastest and most effective ways to create enthusiasm.

Be proactive
When you are the initiator, the one that makes things happen, you transform your dedication to enthusiasm seamlessly. Being proactive creates massive enthusiasm in that you promote something that you have a vested interest in, perhaps something that you are passionate about. I’ve discussed above how passion helps with enthusiasm. This follows along the same line. Be the captain of the ship. Be the leader, be the inspiration, and you will notice your enthusiasm get higher and higher.

Be reasonable
The quickest way to destroy any momentum and your enthusiasm along the way is to be completely unreasonable. Be realistic and understanding…this will ensure that your enthusiasm sticks for the long haul. Being unreasonable leads to guaranteed disappointment and thus create an aura of negative energy. Building enthusiasm in such an environment is pretty much impossible. So be sure to stay logical & reasonable for your enthusiasm to survive.

Be patient
Following from my previous point about being unreasonable, the same applies to patience. Being impatient and expecting everything right away will only crush your enthusiasm when reality slaps you in the face. If you want to have long lasting enthusiasm, it is required of you to be very patient. The more patience you have, the more solid your enthusiasm will be. After all, what we want is enthusiasm that lasts a lifetime, so learn to have patience in your endeavors.

Be enlightened
Believe it or not, but you can build incredible enthusiasm with stillness. You can have amazing enthusiasm with full peace within your entire being, and living in the never-ending present moment. You do not need to be agitated to feel excitement. You can be completely still with calm and still enjoy unparalleled enthusiasm. I suggest you get your hands on the book The Power of Now to understand what I am referring to here. Eckhart Tolle explains this masterfully in his writings. Find your enlightenment and you will pick up enthusiasm along the way!

Be evolving
Understand that life is all about improving yourself and that you are in a constant state of evolution. Knowing that you are, each and every day, getting better and better is a wonderful way to create sheer enthusiasm. Being aware that each step, each moment has a meaning & a purpose is incredibly rewarding and builds a solid foundation on which you can stack up your enthusiasm. Always evolve, and never look back.
As you can see, each of the methods above all compliment each other. Adding each one of these to your existence and you will witness your enthusiasm, for whatever it is that you are doing, get stronger and longer lasting. With enthusiasm fully under your control, there is absolutely nothing that can stop you from being all that you ever wanted to be :)

A Short Story on Self Confidence and Belief

There was a business executive who was deep in  debt and could see no way out.
Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.

Suddenly an old man appeared before him. “I can see that something is troubling you,” he said.
After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.”

He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.”

Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come.
The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!

“I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.

With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.
Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.

“I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller.”

And she led the old man away by the arm.
The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.
Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

Remember who you really are. The children of God. The kingdom of heaven is within you.

The Power of Self Belief - 6 Ways to Build Your Self Belief and a great Story

I Can Do All Things Through God Who Strengthens Me :
Here is a story Jerome Castaneda on how he overcame his fears to unlimited success.

I want to share a little bit of my story about how I managed to develop the power of self belief. When I started working here in Singapore as a CAD Engineer coming from my home country, the Philippines, I encountered lots of challenges at work. I was actually hired because of my excellent skills in using 3D mechanical modeling software even though I had no background in marine engineering or naval architecture field.

So one time I was task to do a 2D structural engineering layout that does not require me to use the 3D CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) tool. I used different drafting software that I have less experienced with. I had to do an offshore mechanical structural layout that I was not familiar with. And as expected, I received corrections after corrections about what I have done in creating my 2D engineering layout. You can imagine how colorful my A3 sized print outs due to corrections.

Here's the sad part, the senior colleague(s) who reviewed my drawing doesn't bother to teach me about the way to improve or speed up the process of learning the skills even when I asked them. All they can tell is how slow I am and all the negative stuffs. At that point I had two choices, whether to equate them with harsh words so that I can bring my ego back or just simply go back to my table and do what I need to do. I chose the later since I was relatively new to the company and Singapore, so I don't want to risk my job.

Here's how I exactly responded that changed the way I looked at things and my attitude. Instead of bursting out the fire against them, I psyched myself up while performing my task. I kept on telling in my mind, "I am the best in what I am doing! I am the fastest in performing this task!" I repeat the phrase "I am the best!" with high emotions all over and over again while I was doing the corrections. I practiced these affirmations every time I worked on my projects. It was just a matter of time when I came for another review process when the senior colleague told me," Whoa, you're so fast huh!" I gave him a smile and from then on, I managed to develop my skills and most especially my attitude. My self esteem went high.
Here are some 6 rules that will help you build up your self confidence:
  1. Create a mental picture of yourself succeeding. Hold on to this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind always tries to complete whatever it pictures so, always picture success no matter how badly things seemed to be going at the moment. Whenever a negative thought concerning your personal powers come into mind, deliberately voice out a positive thought to cancel it out.
  2. Do not build up obstacles in your imagination. Minimize them instead. Problems should be seen for what they are and never inflated by fearful thoughts. You are bigger than your problems.
  3. Do not be awestruck by other people or try to copy them. Remember that most people despite a confident appearance are often as scared and as doubtful of themselves as you are.
  4. Get a confident counselor to help you understand the origin of your inferiority or self doubt feelings. This often begins in childhood. Self knowledge leads to a cure
  5. Ten times each day practice the following affirmation. Repeating it out loud if possible. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This magic statement is the most powerful antidote on earth to inferiority feelings.
  6. Put yourself in God's hands. To do this you simply say "I am in God's hands" then believe that you are now receiving all the power you need. Affirm that the kingdom of God is within you in the form of adequate power to meet all of life's demands. Remind yourself that God is with you and nothing can defeat Him.

The Secret of How to have Unstoppable Self Belief

Self Belief is the Building Block of True Success

An unshakable self belief plays a big part in being truly successful in business and in life because with self belief comes freedom. When you unconditionally believe in who you are, you become free to begin really appreciating life and all that you already have. You gain the space and energy to create your dreams, and the courage, confidence and commitment to be the kind of persona and leader you want to be. Why... because you KNOW you can. If you have found yourself being self critical or doubting yourself in the past this post will help you to understand how you can avoid it in the future.
How to Develop Unstoppable Self Belief

Lets be honest you can forget everyone else, nothings caused you more misery and got in your way of success more than your own psychology. When you know at your deepest level, beyond doubt that you are a great, capable and loving man worthy of all that you desire in life, in that moment true success is achieved. At least it is as far as I'm concerned, and if you embrace this fully you open up avenues that lead to your dreams so long as you get off your backside and get into action! Yet I know this isn't an easy belief for many to accept as true.

Like everyone else you have flaws, imperfections and things you might not necessarily like about yourself, who doesn't! If you can change them great - do it! Work on them them but if not to then please learn to accept them. Your perceived flaws and imperfections are seen as endearing features of beauty by those who truly matter in your life. Whatever you think you're lacking let me tell you now you're lacking nothing, think yourself lucky for whatever you have because if you don't true success will never be yours. There will always be people who have more experience, knowledge and expertise than you, that's just life! I still have thoughts such as "I am not as good as them", or "I don't know enough yet.." and so on, and sometimes if I listen to that voice inside my head for long enough it can stop me dead in my tracks.

Overcome Self Doubt
If you're like me and I suspect almost everyone in this world, you too have moments of self doubt when personal criticism and thoughts of impossibility enter your mind. Times when unresourceful thoughts and beliefs seem to appear from nowhere. What no one told me is that I didn't have believe them! In the past I accepted them as gospel because they had always there! Beliefs I had picked up from other people, parents and so. The more I believed these thoughts the dreams I had fell by the wayside, and I continued looking for an escape from my own thinking in drink and drugs. Then I discovered something very refreshing - a lot of what I used to think was in fact lies! Lies about myself, my situation, my life, the world, other people and so on. When I questioned their validity, more often that not I found then to be untrue. I discovered the thoughts that had stopped me in my tracks, filled me with sadness, fear and misery were a complete load of rubbish!

Shut the F**k Up!

So if at anytime that voice inside your head wants to bring you down, criticise or chastise you, ignore it, turn down the volume, in fact better still turn it off completely. If what you're hearing isn't creating feelings of love and support ignore it, tell it to be quiet at least for a while! Make friends with that voice because it isn't going anywhere! That voice isn't who you are - you have the power to question it or simply dismiss the ideas it try's to sell you altogether! With continued practice you will begin to easily notice those thoughts which in the past may have stopped you being your best, will become less frequent meaning you are free to fill your mind with thoughts that support your continued success. You see it isn't the thoughts you have that are the problem, it is the thoughts you have about the thoughts that can be

The Power of Self Belief -Elephants and Fleas

The Life you truly want is the life that CAN BE YOURS
The saddest two words in the entire English language are "If only..." Don't focus on what was or that which could have been. Look forward, progress and move towards that which you truly desire. With all your heart and soul.

Elephants and Fleas
Jim Donovan in his book This is Your Life Not a Dress Rehearsal tells the story of why elephants don't run. Seeing adult elephants tethered by a slim rope, he asked the trainer why the great animals don't break free to which the trainer replied to the effect that as young animals they are tethered by the same rope and grow up believing that they are held and cannot escape.
In a similar vein there is a famous story told by Zig Ziglar in his book, "See You at The Top." You can place some fleas in a jar with a lid on it. The fleas will of course begin to jump, repeatedly hitting the lid in their attempt to escape.

After about 20 minutes, the fleas begin to learn that they cannot escape and stop jumping as high as they did to begin with, to avoid smacking their head on the lid.
Once they become accustomed to the fact that they cannot escape, you can remove the lid and the fleas will continue to jump at the same height, never escaping the jar. Since the fleas BELIEVE they cannot escape the confines of the jar, they stop trying. Because of their experience with smacking their heads repeatedly, every time they tried to escape, they never even bother looking up to see that the lid is no longer there.

These two anecdotes illustrate well how, like elephants and fleas, we are easily trained into believing how little we can achieve. Like elephants many of us cling to beliefs that we too are unable to achieve what we truly want simply because either we never tried or maybe we tried and failed once. These incorrect self-limiting beliefs are what hold us back.It is a self-limiting belief and self belief is the key that both locks us into self-limitations and yet is the same key that can open the door to new horizons, new ways of thinking and greater self-achievement.

For example, for many years I had the self-belief that I had a talent for writing and yet I had no confidence in that belief and it was this that held me back. Like the fleas in a jar I limited myself, although I never even tried to jump high enough to bang my head on the lid. Nevertheless, I imagined there was a ceiling just above me that I never aspired to exceeding because I believed I never could. Self-belief is both what holds us back and exactly that which can free us from our own self-limiting thoughts.

The situation is not hopeless. We can change. We can change our beliefs. We can let go of those beliefs that hold us back and replace them with new, more confident and more realistic belief and confidence in our abilities and talents. We can change the way we think, in time and with a little effort.
‎'Let go of the past and go for the future. Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined.' Henry David Thoreau
Today is the first day of a new YOU and achieving the happiness of life you so richly deserve.

Self Belief and Self confidence Quotes from Sathya Sai Baba

We are prepared  to believe what others write in their books, but no one is prepared to have faith in their own self. People have all types of confidence except self-confidence. What is the use of having
everything except self-confidence? If only we have self-confidence, we can achieve everything;
there is nothing in this world that we cannot accomplish- Sathay Sai Baba,

Who is a real human being? One who does not undergo a change; one whose faith in the Atma Tathwa (Self) is firm and steady. That is self-confidence. One who develops that self confidence can find a place for themself permanently in the history of the world. - Sathya Sai Baba

One has to develop faith and self-confidence. Self-confidence leads to self-satisfaction and self-sacrifice and ultimately to self-realisation.- Sathya Sai Baba

There are three steps to self-realisation, namely, self-confidence, self-satisfaction and self-sacrifice. - Sathya Sai Baba

You are not a man, you are God yourself. You are not one person, but three, the one you think
you are (physical); the one others think you are (mental); and the one you really are spiritual is
God. - Sathya Sai Baba

You must therefore develop as a first step  confidence in your own self. Without having and developing confidence in your own self, If all  the time you are talking of some power being with someone and some other power being with  someone else, if in this way you travel all the time and depend upon power which is with  someone else, when are you going to acquire any power and confidence in your own self. - - Sathya Sai Baba

You Can Achieve Everything With Self-Confidence

Students should develop self-confidence. Many of  you might have read the story of Abraham Lincoln who lived in penury during his student days. While other boys went to school in costly clothes, Lincoln could not afford even a proper dress when he went to school. One day, his friends made fun of him and humiliated him. He came home crying and told his mother how he was being insulted and humiliated. His mother consoled him, saying, “My dear son, do not get affected by praise or blame. Develop self-confidence. Have firm faith in God. Then everything will become good for you.” These words made a lasting impression on the tender heart of Lincoln. He acquired self-confidence with the encouragement of his mother.
Ultimately, he rose to the position of the President of America. He expressed his deep gratitude to his mother when he became the President of America because it was due to her  teachings that he rose to such a high position. There is nothing impossible in this world for a person who has self-confidence and courage. He can accomplish anything and everything. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen self-confidence. Do not bother about what others
say. Do not be afraid even if they make fun of you. Why should you have any fear when God is with you? He is the resident of your heart. He is none other than your Atma. Call
it God, call it Atma, call it Consciousness, all are different names of the same reality. If you take gold to the goldsmith and ask him to make a ring, he will make a ring out of it.The same gold can be melted and made into a bangle or a chain. The ring, the bangle and the chain are made of the same gold. Likewise, the same Atma is present in everyone though it takes various forms. It is not possible to divide the Atma. Ekatma Sarva Bhutantaratma (one Atma dwells in all beings). Ekam Sat Viprah Bahudha Vadanti (truth is one, but the wise refer to it by various names). Nobody  can attribute any differences to the principle of the Atma. If we perform our task with this type of self-confidence,we can achieve anything. We will then be victorious in all our endeavours. -Sathya Sai Baba

The present-day leaders come and go. Once they become leaders, they forget their duties. These leaders may become MLAs today, MPs tomorrow and ministers thereafter. But they all come and go. None of them is stable in his position. You should not become like that. Only those who have self-confidence can become real leaders. Therefore, you should develop self-confidence and serve
society - Sathya Sai Baba

Students! Lead your life with self-confidence, steadfast  faith and devotion, and study well. Think that God is always with you. In fact, He is residing in your heart. Don’t consider that He is separate from you. Your parents may be away from you but God can never be away from you. Therefore,
develop devotion for God. You may forget anything, but never forget spirituality. The power of spirituality is greater than any other power. There is no other power greater than that. -Sathya Sai Baba

You should consider self-confidence as the  most important asset in life. Without self-confidence
you can never attain bliss. Therefore, try to develop self-confidence in order to lead a good life. You are God yourself, God is the eternal resident of your heart. Therefore, there is nothing greater than your own heart. -Sathya Sai Baba

Follow Swami’s commands and you can attain everything and be victorious in all your endeavours. Take an oath today that you will develop self-confidence. Birthday Message, 23.11.2001 Prasanthi Nilayam -Sathya Sai Baba

Here the young people should particularly understand the implicit manner in which Hanuman obeyed Rama’s orders. Hanuman’s devotion and Hanuman’s faith have helped him greatly to recognise the desire on the part of the master. Along with devotion and faith, Hanuman had great confidence in his
own self. If one has no self-confidence, one will not be able to achieve much although he has faith and devotion. One may have confidence in one’s own self; but if he has no devotion and faith, that too will not help him. Devotion and self Devotion and self confidence are like the negative and positive. It is the combination of these two that will enable us to fulfil our sacred thought. Here, because Hanuman had the divine notion in his heart and the self-confidence, he could have the vision of Rama, the Lord, everywhere he went. When any order was given to Hanuman, he never questioned whether he has the strength or the capacity to fulfil the task. He had the firm faith that the very orders of Rama will give him the necessary strength to fulfil those orders. -Sathya Sai Baba

The first thing we should do in this context is to promote and strengthen the aspect of self-confidence. This confidence in one’s own self is like the foundation at the bottom. On the foundation of that confidence, we should build the wall of self-satisfaction, we should add the roof of selfsacrifice. In that mansion, we should attain self-realisation. Hanuman showed the strength and necessity of self-confidence in a clear manner to the world. But today, in the context of human
nature, men are conducting themselves in a manner by which we think that they have no understanding at all of the need for self-confidence The individual human beings have become so weak that they are not able to understand their own nature, their own self, and therefore, they try to find the nature of others and find fault in others. Because such unsacred qualities have become many in number, man is suffering and he does not understand his own human nature and the quality of
human life is degrading.-Sathya Sai Baba

Students! Don’t underestimate the value of the body. Everything in this world is impermanent;
on that account, are we neglecting such things? So, even though the body is transient, you should take good care of it so long as it lasts, because it is a moving temple of God. Develop self-confidence instead of confidence in the world. Self-confidence may be compared to the foundation for the edifice of life, self-satisfaction is like the walls, self-sacrifice is the roof, and Self-realisation is the happiness of living in the mansion of human body. Therefore, with self-confidence, you can accomplish anything and secure joy. You will be able to face and surmount any difficulties in life.-Sathya Sai Baba

What do you mean by Self? Self is of two kinds. One is the single lettered “I”. The other is the three-lettered “eye”, which stands for the body. The single-lettered “I” refers to the Atma, which is present in all. There may be some people who may not have the three-lettered “eye” or even if it is there, it may be covered by cataract or suffer from other defects or diseases. But the single lettered “I” exists equally in all persons irrespective of whether one is a bhogi (hedonist or pleasure-seeker), rogi (diseased person), yogi (realised person), viragi (the renunciate or monk), or byragi (mendicant).-Sathya Sai Baba

Students, you are now in the most precious period of your life. You should never give room for any differences and discrimination in your thoughts, words, or deeds. Such unhealthy ideas arise from an unhealthy body. Each of you can judge for yourself whether you are strong and healthy or weak and unhealthy, based on the nature of ideas that arise in you. That is why it is said “Yat bhavam tat bhavati (As you think, so you become.)”Just as you take care of the iron safe for the sake of the valuable jewels inside, so too you should take care of your body for the sake of the precious Atma in it. You should eat to live but not live to eat. If you have self-confidence, the required food will come walking to you, as it were. You need not go in search of food. That is why it is said in the Bhagavatha
that one who seeks the Atma is a gopi (devotee) while one who seeks food is a papi (sinner). It is a pity that having got the invaluable human birth, people are running after anna (food) instead of seeking the Atma. Vedanta has been exhorting man to find out who he really is. Instead of using the mirror of your intellect for looking at your Self. You are placing the mirror in front of others to see them. That is why you are not able to
see yourself. -Sathya Sai Baba

Develop self-confidence, which will lead you to bliss. Never give room for worries and anxieties. Gain sufficient strength of the body and mind to face boldly the difficulties, losses, and sorrows that may confront you in life. This will be facilitated if you practise the four F’s taught in our educational system viz., “Follow the Master (your conscience),” “Face the Devil,” “Fight till the end,” and “Finish the game.” What is the inner meaning of the first three letters of the alphabet, A, B, C in the English language? They mean Always Be Careful. The same dictum is given by the Upanishad by exhorting a man to “arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.-Sathya Sai Baba

Self-confidence is confidence in the real Self, Atma -Baba

9 steps for stepping up your confidence

We all want to feel confident, we know what benefits it brings, but how do you become confident if you’re currently not? What a non-confident person can do to build self-confidence?

Being self-confident has many benefits. It helps you perform better, get noticed and appreciated for your work, it gets you a promotion and a raise.
It also gets you attention of opposite sex. To put it simply: it helps you get what you want in life .
On the other hand, shyness and lack of self-confidence can seriously sabotage your efforts and stop you from getting what you want (and what you deserve).
This is why I decided to dedicate a whole blog post to building your self-confidence.
You need to remember something. It’s a process. You can’t build self-confidence overnight. The following 12 ways to do so will work best if applied all together and consistently over time. Confidence is not something that happens to you. It’s a habit. And though you know that you’ll need time and energy to create this new habit, the good news is that you can do. It is something under your control and dependent on you.

1. Use Positive affirmation

Practicing positive affirmations builds up self-confidence To feel more self-confident, you can use positive affirmation – positive statements that are meant to reprogram your mind to seeing yourself in a better light. These include statements such as: “I am worthy”, “I’m a great leader”, “Everybody likes me”, and so. There are a few ways to do it. You can write down your own mantra and repeat it to yourself every morning (or every evening before going to bed). You can write the positive statements on a piece of paper and put it somewhere where you will always see it (stick it on a wall or on a fridge), you can also write your affirmation on a mirror. That’s what I did. Every morning when I get ready I have no other choice but to look at it. I got another idea for how to incorporate positive affirmations to your life. I mentioned it in my previous blog post (it’s the extra tip).

When people act in a self-confident way towards others, they actually feel more self-confident themselves. This is one of the most amazing rules in our lives. If you want to have something, act as if you already have it. The way our mind works, is that the more familiar an idea is, the truer it will seem. And how to make an idea familiar? By repeating it! The more you do something, the more you say something, the more you’ll believe in it. If you want to be more self-confident, act like somebody who already is confident! It might feel funny at the beginning, but don’t let it stop you. It’s a process, and soon you’ll notice how natural and true that behaviour will become.

3. Dress smart

If you ever lack confidence, the easiest way to boost it by dressing like an authority. If you’re perceived like somebody important, you will start feeling like one! Smart outfit is an international symbol of status, so no matter in which country you are, you can always wear it. Things such as suits, shirts, nice shoes, accessories, gadgets – they all add to our confidence.

4. Speak loud

The way you talk and the way you project your voice is directly linked to your confidence. Shy people tend to keep their voice low. They don’t want to draw attention, which they would if they spoke up. You probably have noticed it yourself in meetings. There is always that one guys, the loudest of all, very self-confident, maybe sometimes arrogant, who doesn’t care much about what others think. And then there are those who don’t talk much, they stay quiet, and even when asked – they speak in such a way that people can’t really hear them. Next time you’re in a meeting speak up, project your voice, be loud. You’ll see what kind of an impact it has on your confidence

6. Body language

Confident people have a different body language. They walk tall. They keep their head up. They look into the eyes of others. They also keep their body open.
Whenever we feel bad about ourselves, we feel down or hurt, we tend to close down. And not just emotionally but physically too. We try to become as small as positive, so people don’t notice us. We curl up, so we limit the surface of exposure.
Lack of self confidence manifests itself in such a body language. A way to build confidence is to adopt a body language of somebody who does feel confident.
Here is great TED talk (it’s one of my favourite) that gives tips on just that

 7 Take care of yourself

 8. Accept compliments

Imagine somebody tells you, you look really nice. What would you respond?
Does “Oh, it’s an old dress.” or “Oh, I actually feel quite tired today” sound familiar to you?
What do you usually say when somebody pays you a compliment?
We rarely just accept a compliment. We rarely say “Thank you” without any buts.
But think about it. If somebody takes time to tell you something nice, it’s because they think that. Why can’t you just accept a nice word? Why are you tempted to downplay it? If you did a good job, take ownership of it. Embrace it! Allow yourself to believe in all the good things people tell you. It’s the easiest, and all for free, way to boost your confidence.
In many cultures (including mine), it’s not very polite to simply accept a compliment. It’s perceived rude and arrogant. So for people who come from such cultures it’s a more difficult job. Nevertheless, it’s worth trying.

9. Appreciate what you’ve already achieved

Appreciate how much you've already achieved
Appreciate how much you’ve already achieved
Our confidence is dependent oh how much we believe we are successful. If you don’t notice successes in your life, your self-confidence is likely to be low. How can you believe you are a successful person?
No matter where you are now, I can guarantee you that you’ve achieved much more than you think.
We tend to look in the future and always compare ourselves to that better version of ourselves we’d like to be. Or that we need to be in order to achieve our goals. You look into the future where your perfect self has tons of money, happy family and a beautiful home. Then you look back at now and get depressed and you start feeling like a failure for being so far from your dreams.
We often forget, though, about how far we’ve already come, and how much we’ve already achieved. We rarely look in the past and see who we used to be few years ago, and compare it to who we are.

Intelligence Is Overrated: What You Really Need To Succeed

Albert Einstein’s was estimated at 160, Madonna’s is 140, and John F. Kennedy’s was only 119, but as it turns out, your IQ score pales in comparison with your EQ, MQ, and BQ scores when it comes to predicting your success and professional achievement.

IQ tests are used as an indicator of logical reasoning ability and technical intelligence. A high IQ is often a prerequisite for rising to the top ranks of business today. It is necessary, but it is not adequate to predict executive competence and corporate success. By itself, a high IQ does not guarantee that you will stand out and rise above everyone else.

Research carried out by the Carnegie Institute of Technology shows that 85 percent of your financial success is due to skills in “human engineering,” your personality and ability to communicate, negotiate, and lead. Shockingly, only 15 percent is due to technical knowledge.

Additionally, Nobel Prize winning Israeli-American psychologist, Daniel Kahneman, found that people would rather do business with a person they like and trust rather than someone they don’t, even if the likeable person is offering a lower quality product or service at a higher price.

With this in mind, instead of exclusively focusing on your conventional intelligence quotient, you should make an investment in strengthening your EQ (Emotional Intelligence), MQ (Moral Intelligence), and BQ (Body Intelligence). These concepts may be elusive and difficult to measure, but their significance is far greater than IQ.

Emotional Intelligence
EQ is the most well known of the three, and in brief it is about: being aware of your own feelings and those of others, regulating these feelings in yourself and others, using emotions that are appropriate to the situation, self-motivation, and building relationships.

Top Tip for Improvement: First, become aware of your inner dialogue. It helps to keep a journal of what thoughts fill your mind during the day. Stress can be a huge killer of emotional intelligence, so you also need to develop healthy coping techniques that can effectively and quickly reduce stress in a volatile situation.

Moral Intelligence
MQ directly follows EQ as it deals with your integrity, responsibility, sympathy, and forgiveness. The way you treat yourself is the way other people will treat you. Keeping commitments, maintaining your integrity, and being honest are crucial to moral intelligence.

Top Tip for Improvement: Make fewer excuses and take responsibility for your actions. Avoid little white lies. Show sympathy and communicate respect to others. Practice acceptance and show tolerance of other people’s shortcomings. Forgiveness is not just about how we relate to others; it’s also how you relate to and feel about yourself.

Body Intelligence
Lastly, there is your BQ, or body intelligence, which reflects what you know about your body, how you feel about it, and take care of it. Your body is constantly telling you things; are you listening to the signals or ignoring them? Are you eating energy-giving or energy-draining foods on a daily basis? Are you getting enough rest? Do you exercise and take care of your body? It may seem like these matters are unrelated to business performance, but your body intelligence absolutely affects your work because it largely determines your feelings, thoughts, self-confidence, state of mind, and energy level.

Top Tip For Improvement: At least once a day, listen to the messages your body is sending you about your health. Actively monitor these signals instead of going on autopilot. Good nutrition, regular exercise, and adequate rest are all key aspects of having a high BQ. Monitoring your weight, practicing moderation with alcohol, and making sure you have down time can dramatically benefit the functioning of your brain and the way you perform at work.

What You Really Need To Succeed
It doesn’t matter if you did not receive the best academic training from a top university. A person with less education who has fully developed their EQ, MQ, and BQ can be far more successful than a person with an impressive education who falls short in these other categories.
Yes, it is certainly good to be an intelligent, rational thinker and have a high IQ; this is an important asset. But you must realize that it is not enough. Your IQ will help you personally, but EQ, MQ, and BQ will benefit everyone around you as well. If you can master the complexities of these unique and often under-rated forms of intelligence, research tells us you will achieve greater success and be regarded as more professionally competent and capable.

Number  4

Chariots of Fire – I chose this motivational song because it’s from a classic motivational movie. . For me, since I’ve built such a strong emotional anchor to this song, it’s extremely powerful in terms of activating my motivational energy.
To me, it conjures up images of winning, the internal strength of athletes, and the enduring spirit of champions.

Number  3
Its my Life : Bon Jovi

I chose this motivational song because of the beat and its message of realizing you’re not going to live forever so make this life the way you want it. “I ain’t gonna be just a face in the crowd, you’re gonna hear my voice when I shout it out loud.” Life isn’t meant to be played small. Choose to play it big. There’s nothing honorable about playing it small. If your goal is to be good at something, make the goal to the best at it instead. Obviously, you want to take one step at a time. Just remember that once you reach your goals, set your eyes on an even bigger one.
You’re not here to be average. You’re here to make a damn difference whether you know it or not or believe it or not. Make your mark on this world!

Number 2

Number 1

My Favorite : Hall of Fame  : The Script

You can achieve almost anything you want but it’s not going to be easy, it never is. You’re going to have to go through some moments of pain. Challenges will sometimes make you question whether or not you really have what it takes. Setbacks can momentarily cause you to stay down but if your dream is important to you, you’ll find the strength to get back up. That’s what being a champion is about. It’s not about raising your arms in victory but about rising up each and every time you fall.
Whatever your dream is, the odds of achieving it are probably against you but that doesn’t matter because you’re made to defy the odds. You’re made to make obstacles crumble before you. You’re made to bring pain to pain. When your refusal to quit is greater than any challenge life can throw at you, obtaining your dream will just be a matter of time.
