Self Belief and Self confidence Quotes from Sathya Sai Baba

We are prepared  to believe what others write in their books, but no one is prepared to have faith in their own self. People have all types of confidence except self-confidence. What is the use of having
everything except self-confidence? If only we have self-confidence, we can achieve everything;
there is nothing in this world that we cannot accomplish- Sathay Sai Baba,

Who is a real human being? One who does not undergo a change; one whose faith in the Atma Tathwa (Self) is firm and steady. That is self-confidence. One who develops that self confidence can find a place for themself permanently in the history of the world. - Sathya Sai Baba

One has to develop faith and self-confidence. Self-confidence leads to self-satisfaction and self-sacrifice and ultimately to self-realisation.- Sathya Sai Baba

There are three steps to self-realisation, namely, self-confidence, self-satisfaction and self-sacrifice. - Sathya Sai Baba

You are not a man, you are God yourself. You are not one person, but three, the one you think
you are (physical); the one others think you are (mental); and the one you really are spiritual is
God. - Sathya Sai Baba

You must therefore develop as a first step  confidence in your own self. Without having and developing confidence in your own self, If all  the time you are talking of some power being with someone and some other power being with  someone else, if in this way you travel all the time and depend upon power which is with  someone else, when are you going to acquire any power and confidence in your own self. - - Sathya Sai Baba

You Can Achieve Everything With Self-Confidence

Students should develop self-confidence. Many of  you might have read the story of Abraham Lincoln who lived in penury during his student days. While other boys went to school in costly clothes, Lincoln could not afford even a proper dress when he went to school. One day, his friends made fun of him and humiliated him. He came home crying and told his mother how he was being insulted and humiliated. His mother consoled him, saying, “My dear son, do not get affected by praise or blame. Develop self-confidence. Have firm faith in God. Then everything will become good for you.” These words made a lasting impression on the tender heart of Lincoln. He acquired self-confidence with the encouragement of his mother.
Ultimately, he rose to the position of the President of America. He expressed his deep gratitude to his mother when he became the President of America because it was due to her  teachings that he rose to such a high position. There is nothing impossible in this world for a person who has self-confidence and courage. He can accomplish anything and everything. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen self-confidence. Do not bother about what others
say. Do not be afraid even if they make fun of you. Why should you have any fear when God is with you? He is the resident of your heart. He is none other than your Atma. Call
it God, call it Atma, call it Consciousness, all are different names of the same reality. If you take gold to the goldsmith and ask him to make a ring, he will make a ring out of it.The same gold can be melted and made into a bangle or a chain. The ring, the bangle and the chain are made of the same gold. Likewise, the same Atma is present in everyone though it takes various forms. It is not possible to divide the Atma. Ekatma Sarva Bhutantaratma (one Atma dwells in all beings). Ekam Sat Viprah Bahudha Vadanti (truth is one, but the wise refer to it by various names). Nobody  can attribute any differences to the principle of the Atma. If we perform our task with this type of self-confidence,we can achieve anything. We will then be victorious in all our endeavours. -Sathya Sai Baba

The present-day leaders come and go. Once they become leaders, they forget their duties. These leaders may become MLAs today, MPs tomorrow and ministers thereafter. But they all come and go. None of them is stable in his position. You should not become like that. Only those who have self-confidence can become real leaders. Therefore, you should develop self-confidence and serve
society - Sathya Sai Baba

Students! Lead your life with self-confidence, steadfast  faith and devotion, and study well. Think that God is always with you. In fact, He is residing in your heart. Don’t consider that He is separate from you. Your parents may be away from you but God can never be away from you. Therefore,
develop devotion for God. You may forget anything, but never forget spirituality. The power of spirituality is greater than any other power. There is no other power greater than that. -Sathya Sai Baba

You should consider self-confidence as the  most important asset in life. Without self-confidence
you can never attain bliss. Therefore, try to develop self-confidence in order to lead a good life. You are God yourself, God is the eternal resident of your heart. Therefore, there is nothing greater than your own heart. -Sathya Sai Baba

Follow Swami’s commands and you can attain everything and be victorious in all your endeavours. Take an oath today that you will develop self-confidence. Birthday Message, 23.11.2001 Prasanthi Nilayam -Sathya Sai Baba

Here the young people should particularly understand the implicit manner in which Hanuman obeyed Rama’s orders. Hanuman’s devotion and Hanuman’s faith have helped him greatly to recognise the desire on the part of the master. Along with devotion and faith, Hanuman had great confidence in his
own self. If one has no self-confidence, one will not be able to achieve much although he has faith and devotion. One may have confidence in one’s own self; but if he has no devotion and faith, that too will not help him. Devotion and self Devotion and self confidence are like the negative and positive. It is the combination of these two that will enable us to fulfil our sacred thought. Here, because Hanuman had the divine notion in his heart and the self-confidence, he could have the vision of Rama, the Lord, everywhere he went. When any order was given to Hanuman, he never questioned whether he has the strength or the capacity to fulfil the task. He had the firm faith that the very orders of Rama will give him the necessary strength to fulfil those orders. -Sathya Sai Baba

The first thing we should do in this context is to promote and strengthen the aspect of self-confidence. This confidence in one’s own self is like the foundation at the bottom. On the foundation of that confidence, we should build the wall of self-satisfaction, we should add the roof of selfsacrifice. In that mansion, we should attain self-realisation. Hanuman showed the strength and necessity of self-confidence in a clear manner to the world. But today, in the context of human
nature, men are conducting themselves in a manner by which we think that they have no understanding at all of the need for self-confidence The individual human beings have become so weak that they are not able to understand their own nature, their own self, and therefore, they try to find the nature of others and find fault in others. Because such unsacred qualities have become many in number, man is suffering and he does not understand his own human nature and the quality of
human life is degrading.-Sathya Sai Baba

Students! Don’t underestimate the value of the body. Everything in this world is impermanent;
on that account, are we neglecting such things? So, even though the body is transient, you should take good care of it so long as it lasts, because it is a moving temple of God. Develop self-confidence instead of confidence in the world. Self-confidence may be compared to the foundation for the edifice of life, self-satisfaction is like the walls, self-sacrifice is the roof, and Self-realisation is the happiness of living in the mansion of human body. Therefore, with self-confidence, you can accomplish anything and secure joy. You will be able to face and surmount any difficulties in life.-Sathya Sai Baba

What do you mean by Self? Self is of two kinds. One is the single lettered “I”. The other is the three-lettered “eye”, which stands for the body. The single-lettered “I” refers to the Atma, which is present in all. There may be some people who may not have the three-lettered “eye” or even if it is there, it may be covered by cataract or suffer from other defects or diseases. But the single lettered “I” exists equally in all persons irrespective of whether one is a bhogi (hedonist or pleasure-seeker), rogi (diseased person), yogi (realised person), viragi (the renunciate or monk), or byragi (mendicant).-Sathya Sai Baba

Students, you are now in the most precious period of your life. You should never give room for any differences and discrimination in your thoughts, words, or deeds. Such unhealthy ideas arise from an unhealthy body. Each of you can judge for yourself whether you are strong and healthy or weak and unhealthy, based on the nature of ideas that arise in you. That is why it is said “Yat bhavam tat bhavati (As you think, so you become.)”Just as you take care of the iron safe for the sake of the valuable jewels inside, so too you should take care of your body for the sake of the precious Atma in it. You should eat to live but not live to eat. If you have self-confidence, the required food will come walking to you, as it were. You need not go in search of food. That is why it is said in the Bhagavatha
that one who seeks the Atma is a gopi (devotee) while one who seeks food is a papi (sinner). It is a pity that having got the invaluable human birth, people are running after anna (food) instead of seeking the Atma. Vedanta has been exhorting man to find out who he really is. Instead of using the mirror of your intellect for looking at your Self.You are placing the mirror in front of others to see them. That is why you are not able to
see yourself. -Sathya Sai Baba

Develop self-confidence, which will lead you to bliss. Never give room for worries and anxieties. Gain sufficient strength of the body and mind to face boldly the difficulties, losses, and sorrows that may confront you in life. This will be facilitated if you practise the four F’s taught in our educational system viz., “Follow the Master (your conscience),” “Face the Devil,” “Fight till the end,” and “Finish the game.” What is the inner meaning of the first three letters of the alphabet, A, B, C in the English language? They mean Always Be Careful. The same dictum is given by the Upanishad by exhorting a man to “arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.-Sathya Sai Baba

Self-confidence is confidence in the real Self, Atma -Baba
