Four Ways to Build Your Self Belief That Will Skyrocket Your Online Home Business Success

It’s not the events of our lives that shape us, but our beliefs as to what those events mean -Anthony Robbins

Everyone starting a home business has a great many hopes and fears. Some motivate us and move us forward. Others haunt us with past failures and hold us back. I know, as I have experienced many of those exact same thoughts you also have starting out. After several years of working from home and starting various online home business ventures, not all of them successful, even now, I work on my belief system on a daily basis. I can honestly say that the old saying "success starts within" is true. And given I have heard this over and over from other top leaders in the industry, you ignore this principle at your own peril really. No matter where you live in relation to me or anyone else, that is geographical and cultural differences aside, if you are reading this it is likely we share one important belief.

We believe in a different way to earn a living. We dare to be different to the 97% of people out there across the planet. The majority of the world's population will struggle on in a 'wage' system while we venture out into less certain territory of a 'profit system'. Yet it's one thing to KNOW you need belief in a business opportunity and in yourself. It's sometimes a whole other thing to LEARN HOW to build self belief!

Here are four key ways you can start developing your self belief right now that will have an immense benefit on your online home business and lead you to success:

 1. Creating your sense of confidence

First of all, be confident in the decision you have made to start a home business. To get better results in life and work, you have to make better choices, even if sometimes it feels risky and is less familiar and comfortable. Real entrepreneurs thrive in this kind of environment. You have set your sail towards a different direction to the masses living in a wage system. You have chosen to live in the 'profit system'.
Kip Herriage of Wealth Masters fame, remarked that we are on the verge of the greatest wealth transfer in history. In the midst of the financial turmoil of our current economic recession - or depression - there is always great opportunity right alongside.
So believing in the choice to start an online home business, you already raised your game, as a leader, as one of the 3% of entrepreneurs

Secondly, with regard to self belief, the more you know and can do, the greater your sense of confidence in you.

But don't be impatient with yourself, success takes time and is not necessarily a reflection on you personally. Tell yourself you are making progress when things are slow, tell yourself you will succeed. Avoid negative thoughts about failure and 'can't do it'. Celebrate each achievement along the way. It's important to recognise that success is not one thing. It comes from doing, reviewing and improving through consistent persistent activity. When you recognise and accept this process, your confidence and self belief will grow.

 2. Overcoming your biggest fear

Fear holds many people back from achieving the success they deserve. And the negative self talk that goes alongside fear can be very destructive. And it's not always fear of failure, but fear of the criticisms from others if we do fail. We fear our family, our friends, our colleagues saying "I told you so" or "I knew it was a scam" or worse "I thought you'd be rubbish at that". However, notice these individuals are ALWAYS stuck in the 'wage system'. People in the profit system are more supportive because they understand your choice and they respect you for it.
This should give you enormous belief that you're on the right track and in your capacity to succeed like others before you. So remember that what 'wage' people say is really none of your business. Profits are better than wages! Even if you have struggled in the past to make an online home business work, have you come to a point yet where you give up? Of course not, you know there must be a way, right? Top producers, top earners, may have made a good income, but they also have achieved time freedom. All the top achievers aim towards steady streams of passive income coming into their business, whether you're working and when you are not.
Have you experienced some event recently, read something, heard something or watched something that gave you a true moment of clarity? I had this recently, and this is where all my hard work in the past several years suddenly started to kick in.

3. Working towards focused goals

Like me, perhaps you have tried a few times to start a home business or an online business. Maybe you have been struggling to make it work for months, even years. Do you feel defeated by the sheer complexity of internet marketing or are you continually chasing after the next big venture?
Are you now ready to make a change, but you're not quite sure what, where or how to begin? Well, here's how you can develop another layer of self belief. I'd been running a home business for several years with one of the top MLM companies. I was doing ok, but not great. I'd tried to move my business online so I could get greater time freedom in our lives - one of the main reasons I wanted to work from home for that flexibility. Then we got stuck with a huge tax bill almost $40k - obviously because we'd had a fruitful year - but we were caught out because you have to pay it forward. I felt like my world had collapsed. The sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach was because I felt like I'd failed to make this work, to have enough money to pay this big bill.
And it was in that moment of despair that the solution appeared. Yes, it came in the form of a new business venture, but actually it was the solution I found within myself that really made the difference. I held onto my self belief. The opportunity, you see, simply reaffirmed that everything I had learned and done so far, was valuable. I was able to bring all that expertise together and give clear focus to what I did moving forward. I guess what I'm trying to say is that YOU bring so much personally to the table when you start afresh.
Yes, you need to be sure you move forward with a profitable business model - I'd learned that much from my previous ventures. But also, you need to focus on your goals and develop a realistic plan and timescale for meeting them. If you are focused and doing consistent daily activity, your knowledge and skills in the equation are so much more obvious to you, in the results you are getting, and in the timescales for achieving each level of success.
It's not by chance - remember it's about having a plan and working that plan - this brings you another key source of self belief

4. Plugging into a community of top achievers
It's no secret that many of the top achievers in this industry are past "failures" in MLM, direct sales, internet marketing, affiliate marketing, one way or another. So self belief must come into play or they'd quit, right? Top achievers believe in themselves, in their innate abilities to succeed. That means the opposite of what you might suspect. If something isn't working, it doesn't mean they don't look first at themselves, that they start blaming others or the system or the techniques they are using. It actually means they look first at what they could do better or differently. These top achievers work harder on themselves than they do on their business, because they know they are the most critical component of the whole process.
This in fact is the origin of self belief, being a problem solver.
If you want to develop your own self belief, it makes sense to plug into a community of top achievers, to hear from the horse's mouth on a daily and weekly basis, what it really takes to make things work. Top achievers will show you the door into your inner self, teaching you how to deal with the fears and doubts in your own mind, not to mention the criticisms and opinions of people around you. This 'leadership' is crucial. I honestly believe it is not possible to succeed entirely on your own - or at least it must be far quicker when you work amongst people who have trodden the path many times before you.
So make sure you rub shoulders with the top leaders in your industry. Hang out with them on conference calls, webinars, events - absorb every nuance, every advice on mindset and never underestimate the power of working on your own belief system. For me personally, being amongst the top leaders is when my dream, my hope, my ambition, became a must, a certainty. Success was inevitable and my belief in myself took solid form.
I am a 3%er and a leader in this industry - I believe it, I know it, I act it and I am it. And taking the next step towards your own success, you are a leader too. You're either in or you're out. Affirm your choice daily.
Which side do YOU want to be on?
Self belief, first and foremost starts with the choices you make, the decisions you take, the persistence you demonstrate to make a success on the better side.
You need the clarity to recognise it and the courage to move towards it, often in a different direction to the people around you. Your self belief starts to grow first in the knowledge that you took the better path.
Celebrate each step you take, each achievement no matter how small. Each step adds up and takes you forward towards success.
Each step forward is fuel for your self belief.
